B-17 Alliance gathers and unites communities to Honor the American Spirit.
B-17 Alliance engages generation through Educational Programs, a monthly Veterans Coffee Club, Museum Tours, Student Tours, and family oriented honorable events.
The B-17 was a “Flying Fortress” revered for bringing airmen home from war even with heavy battle damage. 12,731 were built from 1936 to 1945. The Lacey Lady is one of less than 10 capable of flying. Fewer than 50 remain in the world.
- This world-famous B-17G, was the world-famous Gas Station Bomber.
- The Lacey Lady has the lowest air miles of any B-17 in the world.
- Community support is helping to return to her original flying glory.
- She is a superb educational tool and the centerpiece to share the stories of the Greatest Generation.
Since 2006 B-17 Alliance Foundation has collected Stories to preserve the history of our Greatest Generations. Capturing the stories of over 200 WWII Veterans who were drawn to this B-17 and shared their stories of valor. Our museum is a collection of Uniforms and artifacts representing these personal stories. Tour Guides Educate Generations of visitors from around the world from these noble stories.
The Lacey Lady’s restoration is the centerpiece for sharing these stories and educating generations.
